“Soprano Gyu Yeon Shim touched our heart and she succeeded. She has a light and well-focused soprano with a pleasing vibrato and sings without visible effort. We were especially fond of her.”

“ A standout in the second act is the role of The Fiakermilli, the “belle of the Coachmen’s Ball,” and Gyu Yeon Shim dazzled as a petite powerhouse of coloratura pyrotechnics. Hers was one of the most astonishing successes of the evening, both vocally and in vivaciously comic acting.”
By Pittsburgh in the Round
“Gyu Yeon Shim was the shining star of the production, her remarkably clear soprano cutting beautifully in the chorus pieces and the control of her upper register perfect for La Fée’s difficult arias. “
